A Photo Session in Chesapeake City, Maryland

I am originally from Maryland. My love for sunny weather and my dislike of more than 3 days of snow, caused me to raise my family in Georgia. Every Fall, I miss my home state. This September has me sitting here in my office just south of Atlanta thinking of what I would be doing if I was in Maryland. Wow do I miss the Fall in the North! We would be picking apples to make pies and apples sauce with. We would be going pumpkin picking while bundled in sweaters and hats. We would be crunching our way through beautifully colored leaves. Possibly, my most favorite of all,  is that we would be eating apple spice doughnuts from Milburn Orchards.

I have been a very bad blogger. My last post was in 2012! Thankfully I have been very busy capturing photos constantly since my last blog. I just haven’t taken the time to write about each session.  But I am back and I decided that the first pictures up would be from a session that I did in Chesapeake City surrounded my crisp fall air and the colors a crispy leaves.

20 Fingers and 20 Toes

This session has so many of my favorite photos it was hard to just pick a few to share.

I started this session by working with just the baby boy.  He is such a peaceful little guy. The only noises he made were tiny little baby coos. I melted each time I focused on his little details.  His sister was equally adorable to work with and a bit more feisty. I think that is evident in one of the black and white photos that I am sharing below.  As we set up the shot to capture a pose where a baby rests their chin on their arms, she surprised me by insisting on lifting up her head. I still can’t believe that shot.

I titled this session 20 Fingers and 20 Toes because of big sister. She counted each toe for me as we snapped the photos of her with her siblings.

Enjoy!

3 Ponds, 2 Bridges, and a Willow Tree

I came across this location while on one of the golf cart paths here in Peachtree City.  My boys and I were heading to t-ball and were winding our way around some new paths.  I fell in love as soon as I came upon this location.  Three ponds, two bridges and willow trees.   I couldn’t wait to meet with my client and try out this new location. When the day came, I was thrilled to meet this really sweet couple. They were up for every idea that I had in mind and this location offered up plenty.

Enjoy!

A Year Later

I had the pleasure of photographing this family a year ago.  That session was very different. It was in Pennsylvania and it was winter.  It was not the coldest session that I ever shot but it came very close. I believe the temperature was in the thirties. The kids spent time cuddling their parents in blankets between shots and even during some shots for body warmth.  I was glad to see that although now it was a sunny day a whole year later, the cuddling still went on.  This family exudes love for each other.

Enjoy!

My Friend

Before Georgia, I lived in Pennsylvania for six years.  During that time, I was lucky to meet a wonderful friend and form the kind of friendship that many miles apart do not bring to an end. A few months ago, my friend called to tell me she is pregnant.  Of course I had to see her and photograph her. So as soon as I could get back to the North, I set out to photograph her as she awaits her newest little bundle.  So here she is, my dear friend.

Enjoy!

Out of a Magazine

The post will be from the same location using the same items.  While I try not to use the same places and things, these sessions are parts of a fundraiser for a local school.  Photographing several families in one day required using the same location.  I had fun  providing each family  a unique experience,  and am very happy with these images.  This family stepped right out of a magazine.  Enjoy!

Its The Little Things

This shoot was done on a beautiful sunny day with beautiful color. While my clients received images in color and in black and white, I wanted to just focus on the black and white images for this blog. There is something so peaceful about them. I love how they focus on the very tiny details of a little one. Enjoy.

Jason & Kelly’s Wedding

The bride started planning a fall wedding a year before the date. As the day approached, it was hard to imagine her theme of fall colors and apples, fitting into the hot summer temperatures and greenery. And then by some bit of magic, fall appeared the morning of her wedding day.  Temperatures dropped and the mountains of upstate New York made a beautiful canvas for the beautiful couple.

Shifting Focus

The first time that I saw Nicole, was when she was one of my son’s preschool teachers.  I immediately thought she would be beautiful to photograph, and I was pleased to find that she was also a beautiful person. She has a sweet and gentle way about her that works perfectly with children.

It was then my pleasure, to be hired by the staff of the preschool, as a baby shower gift to her.  During the shoot it was neat to see this person who spends so much time with the children of others, get to just enjoy her own.

I look forward to photographing her little girl soon.  What a wonderful shift, she has focused on my child, now I can focus on hers.
